The Tree of Valor is a traveling pictorial exhibit honoring those in the military, past and present. Since 2019, we have been displaying photos of our nation’s military on evergreen trees. Our mission is simple. If you are worth fighting for, they are worth remembering. If you’re a veteran or know a veteran, The Tree of Valor has a place saved for you.
Although we have a forest of trees, we simply started with one tree. It was an artificial Christmas tree put up in October 2018 so our son could have a surprise Christmas before leaving on deployment. That tree was then covered in photos made into wooden mementos. The pictures were of family and friends who had served. We wanted him to know the story he was part of. This is the reason our project is called “The Tree of Valor“ & not Trees of Valor. We never want to forget why we started.
We take our troop covered trees to all kinds of places. There is no place in America that we believe doesn’t need reminded that freedom isn’t free. We take them to large events such as the VFW Conventions, to local events, to veterans coffees , & to the celebrations of our 100 year old veterans. We also deploy to Main Street America. We look for businesses with nice windows where a collection of trees or even a single tree can be placed. The mission is to find the veteran who feels forgotten. Let him or her find that window and that business that they now know has NOT forgotten them.
